Part of the cataloging process of artwork by Seton involves ongoing research in attempt to fill in the blanks.
Cheek pouch (ground squirrel??) What species? Where was Seton on day 12 of March 1919? Was this drawing published? If so, where? Seton’s journal at the American Museum of Natural History in New York has the original journal. In that could be a note on where he was and what he was doing. In the meantime, I will have more question marks than answers to put into the digital catalog.
