Endangered, Tin & mirror, 2020 (with detail below)

(I envisioned Endangered as an exhibition about our disconnection from nature and the inevitable tragic outcome, a continuation of Seton’s warnings. The invited artists created a variety of responses. Intended for the walls of the Seton Gallery, the show is presented in a series of blog postings. Images and text copyright belong to the individual artists. dlw)

Richard Gabriel statement about his work

My piece represents plants and animals that are in different stages of “endangeredness” from the jaguar represented with negative space (because it may already be gone) to the mirror which reflects man (and the possibility of a positive or negative outcome depending on the individual reflected in the mirror).

(To see more of Richard’s work, see his entries on Facebook and Instagram.)
