On this date in 1040, the future Scot King known to us as MacBeth defeated a rival boss Duncan I to become to new boss—for 17 years until he met the same fate as Duncan. There is always a faster gun in town, at least eventually, and you are likely to meet him. (And sometimes, there are witch hunts, because there are witches.) The Seton’s had not yet moved to Scotland so the family missed out on this particular adventure.
